Area began with a frustration: listings scattered across websites, outdated info, endless Facebook groups, and a search that felt unnecessarily complicated. We knew there had to be a better way. And beginnings rarely happen exactly when or how we expect — sometimes a change of plans opens the door to an idea that changes everything.

Some of the most meaningful beginnings happen when life doesn't go quite as planned. Area was one of them.

What started as an idea became a product, a growing community, and an ambition to rethink how people discover places. We started in Malta because we saw an opportunity to build something different. We never imagined the story would end here.
